ATRIR clinic relies on collaborative speech recognition.

The ATRIR pneumology clinic, which stands for Association pour le Traitement, la Réadaptation et la réinstallation des Insuffisants Respiratoires (Association for the Treatment, Rehabilitation and Resettlement of Patients with Respiratory Problems), consists of several departments and medical facilities.

The ORSAC group clinic in Nyons in France, decided to work with Dicma, a certified Philips dealer, to improve document creation procedures for both doctors and secretaries. They chose a combination of two solutions: the Philips SpeechExec Enterprise dictation solution paired with Dragon Medical One speech recognition.”

Daily convenience

Doctor Bernard Porsin, pneumologist at the ATRIR clinic, explains how timesaving and more efficient he is on a daily basis. "We are very thorough in our reports in regard to the disease and we have a better understanding of the sequence of events leading to the diagnosis of patients," the physician explains. He adds, "The administrative part of the medical workload is becoming increasingly important, and the solution allows us to speed up certain procedures, such as consultations and the interpretation of medical examinations. This saves us time, allowing us to focus on other things, receive more patients, and our consultations run also faster.”

Notable changes

Satisfaction with the change in solution is felt not only by the healthcare providers, but also by the IT department. "The solution has really evolved! People on duty can now also log in at home to dictate," says Sofian El Manssouri, IT manager at ORSAC Group's ATRIR clinic.
