Older versions of SpeechExec Basic and Pro (version 10 and earlier) had been out of support for several years, and newer versions were already available. Because of this, the SpeechExec license server was taken offline by June 1, 2023. Since then, users with these older licenses can no longer reactivate them. With Windows 10 support ending in October 2025 and many users upgrading their hardware, this poses a significant challenge: Older SpeechExec versions can no longer be reinstalled or reactivated.

What does this mean?

• Customers who want to revoke an activated SpeechExec Version 10 (or older) license and activate it again have not been able to do so since June 1, 2023.
• Customers using SpeechExec Version 10 or earlier can continue to use the software on their current computer, even after June 1, 2023—as long as the license stays installed on that same device. However, if the computer needs to be replaced, for example due to an upgrade to Windows 11, it will no longer be possible to revoke and reactivate the license.

What you should do?

Affected customers have two options to upgrade:

• You can upgrade to the successor version of SpeechExec: SpeechExec Version 12.
  - It keeps the familiar user interface that customers know and trust, while providing regular software updates during the subscription period.
  - SpeechExec Version 12 is licensed per user, so it can be installed on multiple computers at the same time.
  - When upgrading from Version 10, all your user settings and dictations are carried over automatically.
