Working with speech recognition is quick, but it improves the treatment of patients as doctors can document and communicate at the same time.
Christoffer Nyborg is a doctor in the vascular department at the University Hospital in Oslo, Norway. He uses speech recognition because it helps him and the department save time, as notes can be finished off right away.
The treatment of patients is improved as doctors and patients communicate while documenting and get instant feedback.
Speech recognition by Max Manus made it very easy for Christoffer Nyborg from the start as it is easy to use and comes with a thoughtful dictionary. For recording he uses the wireless headset Philips SpeechOne, which was developed specifically for speech recognition as accurate speech recognition results require an excellent recording quality to begin with. Working truly handsfree is extremely beneficial as he can document and examine, for example with an ultrasound device, at the same time.
