Speech Processing Solutions has come out on top in Nuance Communications’ latest recording-accuracy test with its Philips dictation devices. With the release of the new version 12 of the “Dragon Naturally Speaking” speech recognition software, Nuance conducted hardware tests on products from Philips, Dictaphone, Olympus, InSync and Andrea Electronics and published these results recently on their website. The entire range of Philips devices were awarded the highest ratings in the Nuance survey in regard to microphone quality and clarity of recordings. For medical practitioners, lawyers and other professionals who work with speech recognition, the higher the recording quality, the better the speech recognition rating and the faster the document turnaround times.

Nuance test recognizes first-class microphones

“This result shows that we are the global leader in audio competence, and that our products live up to our promise and are number one in terms of speech recognition capabilities,” says Thomas Brauner, Managing Director, Speech Processing Solutions. “It underlines that our recording devices are state-of-the-art and feature first-class microphones.” On the Accuracy Scale of the Dragon Score, the SpeechMike Premium LFH 3500/3600/3610 and SpeechMike 3rd generation Pro LFH3200/LFH3300 models achieved six out of six possible Dragons in the category “Handheld".

Highest ranking in “Recorders” category

Following the success of SpeechMike Premium, the Philips SpeechMike Air, the wireless version of the SpeechMike, also received a six-star rating from Nuance in January 2013.
